A circulair approach? That’s wat we prefer whenever possible! Strukton Rail Short Line reuses parts when feasible. An example is here at AEB in Amsterdam, where we renewed sleepers and ballast last week. The sleepers and most fastening materials lived their first life in the main tracks and are now enjoying a second life at AEB.
The ballast originates from the main track as well, was washed and sieved at GBN and is now ready for reuse.
We did not renew the rails last week. We would have applied reusable rails if we had!
